- There is an interesting history to the neighborhood: the original homes, built in the 1920s, on the grounds of an old estate, were designed to look like an English country village.
- The association holds monthly meetings and sponsors three annual events in the summer, the fall, and December.
- There is a push to place the neighborhood on the National Historic Register.
- There are also a number of controversial issues buzzing about, including the borough's plan to completely reorganize street parking.
There is a unique mix of residents in the community, but most seem are older (retired) or in their thirties or forties. The older group (very active) in the civic association has been apprehensive about electronic communications. (The current president suggested ceasing publication of the monthly print newsletter to move to email newsletters only. So far this has not happened.) I would want the site to be very user-friendly, easy to navigate and read, so that all members would feel comfortable using it.

Fascinating idea. And creating a website would probably get your older members to become more familiar with technology.
I can't wait to see it.
I not only want to see your website, I want to move to your neighborhood! An estate! A village! I think that you are smart to think early on about your user group. As far as the newsletter, you could link to it on your site. When you send the print one out, you can notify people that it will be e-mailed and available through the website, but if people still need a print one they should they should send a note to the association to ensure delivery.
I think you have more than enough to write about on your page! And I can’t wait to see the photos of your town too. I think you are definitely on the right track by thinking the content of your site and easy navigation could change the opinion of those who are opposed to electronic communications. I might be wrong, but I think those less computer literate would get over their fears if they knew the association’s site contained information relevant to them, or featured photos of their property.
I think its great that your website will have a real purpose and on many different levels as well. Maybe you could have a launch party at one of your meetings just to show off how easy it will be to navigate (you know - just to take the edge off some of that techno fear.
Is the site idea still alive?
